It's been quite a while since I last wrote.  I'm not quite sure where to start.

Hmmm....I'm sitting here at my computer wearing as little as possible, while still trying to not feel odd.  It's just about as hot as it's ever been here, and sitting in front of the fan on high makes it almost bearable.  It reminds me of the hottest days in the Philippines when Sara and I would go up to her bedroom and just sit around in our underwear or shirts and just lay there sweating, even with a fan on you.  I'm really looking forward to the fall.

Well, it seems that life at school has finally settled down.  We've had two new teachers in the last month, and both of them, to Clinton's and my delight, seem to have a clue.  Shaheed, an English guy that took over Nora's position, doesn't have any teaching experience but is learning and trying everyday.  He asks a ton of questions, but then also tries out things himself.  Plus, he seems to have energy and even if he's tired, doesn't appear that way with the kids.  Ernest used to walk around with sagging shoulders and a sour face, even if he wasn't tired.  Shaheed is also here with his wife, who seems quite nice.  Clinton and I hung out with them this past Friday night.  Our other new teacher, Leigh, has been here for two years and doesn't need any major guidance teaching.  She takes care of things and seems to get how to behave with the teachers, Korean or otherwise.  She got me a great bag from Thailand, before she came to school too.

I have a 5 day weekend starting tomorrow.  It's one of two times a year when the school closes for a couple of days.  I don't really know what I'm going to do, but I'm happy to have the break.  This past week we started extra morning classes for a month.  Because the elementary kids are on vacation, they offer extra intensive courses and yours truly gets to teach them, because I don't have kinder.  Plus I had one student that wants an hour of privates at her house everyday for a month, that started this week.  The privates, especially, are really good money, but what it boils down to is that I'll have to get up at a little after 8am for a month and teach in the morning and night.  After a week of it, I'm quite tired and am looking forward to a couple days rest, before it all starts back up again.  I remember this time last summer being quite tiring too.  I'm just not meant to teach in the mornings.  It's like by the time I get used to getting up early and change my sleep pattern the month is up and then I go back to only afternoons again.  Que sera sera.

Later...
